TWO men who snatched a woman’s handbag are wanted by police.

The 25-year-old student was walking in St Augustine Road in Southsea when they approached her and grabbed her bag, which contained keys, a purse, bank cards and ID.

They had come from the direction of Mafeking Road at about 1.30pm on February 26. However, police have only just released details.

Detective Constable Toby Wilson, from the priority crime team, said: ‘The victim in this incident was quite shaken up and says she remembers screaming when it took place.

‘As this happened in a residential area and people may have been woken by the scream, I am hoping that someone would have seen this incident take place, or seen the offenders leaving the area.’

The first man is black, aged about 22, 5ft 9in, with brown eyes. He wore a blue hooded top, dark jeans and white trainers. The second man is black, 5ft 11 in tall and of an average build. He wore a baggy dark jacket.
