Police are investigating the death of a man who was hit by a Portsmouth-bound train.
British Transport Police was called to Liss Common crossing in Forest Road at 3.33pm yesterday.
The man, believed to be in his 50s from Liss, died at the scene
A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: ‘Medics from South Central Ambulance Service also attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
‘The man’s family have been informed, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.’
Trains travelling through the area between Havant and Guildford were delayed for several hours while investigators worked at the scene.
Some rail equipment was also damaged.
