AN AREA of Fareham is no longer cordoned off after a suspicious letter was checked by police.

The Reel cinema in the centre of town sounded the alarm just before 2pm today but after a search by police, the cordon has been lifted.

A spokesman from Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘In relation to the incident at Reel cinema in Fareham I can advise that the cordon is being lifted following a search of the premises.

‘All seems to be in order.’

A police van and three police cars attended the incident outside the First travel shop behind Wilkinsons on Harper Way.
