A MAN was assaulted in a vicious attack in Fareham.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault that happened near the Co-op in Fairfield Avenue.

At about 1am a 22-year-old man was walking away from the store when he was approached by two men. Both men then hit him in the face in an unprovoked assault, causing him to fall to the ground.

The victim suffered splits to both his lips as a result of the attack on Friday, January 21.

The first suspect was white, in his mid-20s, fat, and about 6ft 6in.

He was wearing a dark polo T-shirt with some detail in white, white Reebok trainers, a white Nike baseball cap and he had a dragon tattoo on his arm.

The second man was white, aged 18 to 19, stocky and about 5ft 2in.

He wore a black Pompey shirt and white tracksuit bottoms and had Mum and Dad tattooed on his neck. He wore an orange and white flappy-eared hat with tassles. Call PC Doug Westerman on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
