A MOTORCYCLIST who died following a crash on a rural road has been named by police.

Scott Lewis, from Petersfield, was riding a Kawasaki motorbike that collided with a Vauxhall Corsa on the A272 near the village of Privett, between Petersfield and the West Meon Hut pub.

The 32-year-old died at the scene of the crash, which happened at about 8am on Tuesday.

The driver of the Corsa, a 61-year-old Havant man, was not injured in the crash.

He was arrested on suspicion of causing death by driving without due care and attention but later released on bail.
