THREE vehicles – including two minibuses – were seized by police during an operation targeting transport used to take Eastern European migrants to and from work.
The initiative in Chichester and Bognor was organised after complaints from the community, farms and nurseries regarding the vehicles and their roadworthiness.
More than 20 vehicles were stopped and checked. Three vehicles were seized for various offences, including no insurance and no MoT.
One man, a 39-year-old from Arundel, was arrested on suspicion of fraud.
PC Louise Clark, who organised the operation, said: ‘This has been a successful approach to disrupting illegal activity on the roads and educating foreign drivers of the standards expected.’
