A Hampshire Police spokesman said: ‘It’s also believed the same men struck at a jeweller in Bristol on Tuesday, December 2 but staff became suspicious and they left empty handed.

‘In each case it’s thought they used keys to unlock cabinets containing high value jewellery.

‘The incident in Portsmouth happened between 5.40pm and 6pm on Thursday, November 20 at H Samuel in Commercial Road.
