A PAIR of would-be burglars fled empty-handed after being disturbed by a homeowner.

Police have released e-fits of the two men they would like to speak to in connection with the attempted burglary in Bridge Road, Swanwick between 2.25pm and 2.45pm on April 7.

The homeowner, a 55-year-old man, heard banging coming from the front of his house and went to investigate.

He found two men on his driveway who claimed they thought the house was empty and up for sale and wanted to take a look. After they left he noticed signs of attempts to break in.
