Police reveal drugs link in Portsmouth stabbing investigation

POLICE have revealed there is a suspected drugs link to two men being stabbed.

For the first time since three women were held after the stabbings, in Somers Road, Somerstown, police have now confirmed why the women held.

It comes as woman 35, of no fixed address, has been bailed.

She was held on suspicion of assisting an offender and being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.

Two other women, 35 from Portsmouth and 26 from Southsea, were arrested and bailed until April 28.

Police have now said they were both held on suspicion of assisting an offender and grievous bodily harm with intent. They were bailed until April 26.

Officers are still trying to find two mixed race or black men in their 20s, who were wearing tracksuits.

A 50-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries and a 31-year-old man sustained serious injuries in the attack on Friday night. Call 101 quoting 44170081395 or 44170081458.
