TWO youths who attacked a shopkeeper during a robbery at a city convenience store are being hunted by police.

The two suspects targeted the Krishna News, Food and Wine Stores in Tangier Road, Baffins, Portsmouth.

The pair entered the store and stole a crate of cider between 9pm and 9.10pm.

They fled and the owner gave chase, however he was assaulted before the youths ran off into nearby woods.

Now police are appealing for anyone with information that could help bring the robbers to justice to come forward.

A Hampshire police spokesman said: ‘Although the shopkeeper was attacked, luckily he received no serious injuries during the incident.’

The first suspect is described as being aged about 17 or 18, with a skinny build and about 5ft tall.

The second youth is described by police as being aged about 18 or 19, with a large build and about 6ft tall.
