WOULD-BE dognappers tried to steal a pug puppy, police have revealed.

PCSO Tria Gibbs warned that there have been several attempts to take dogs in the past few days and it appears two have been stolen.

She said: ‘There was an attempt to take a pug puppy while the owner was walking in Clanfield. At this time three males in a Subaru with a navy blue top and silver bottom were trying to entice the puppy into the car.’

PCSO Gibbs added: ‘Please can you be careful when walking your dogs.’

Elsewhere, a black Labrador went missing from East Meon and a white springer spaniel vanished in Four Marks.

PCSO Gibbs added: ‘Please make sure when walking your dog that you do not let it go too far and always keep it in sight.’

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
