POLICE investigating a scam involving B&Bs and guesthouses are warning owners to be vigilant.

Between March and August more than 20 similar reports were received across Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire.

In many cases a man books a room for a night and then says that a parcel will be delivered for him. The man arrives, checks in, collects the parcel and normally leaves.

It appears that the parcels contain mobile phones that have been ordered for contracts set up using unknowing victims’ details. Call Richard Lynham at Lyndhurst police station on 101.
