MOTORISTS are being warned to make sure their cars are locked after a series of break-ins.

The warning by Hampshire police is specifically targeted at those in the Fareham and Portchester areas.

Since the start of the month there have been 16 thefts including money, phones, laptops, tools and wedding photos.

Thirty-five vehicle thefts were also reported in Gosport last month, in which only three cars were locked.

PCSO Aimee Woodward said: ‘Many thefts have been from insecure vehicles so please remember to lock your car.’
