THE number of football-related arrests involving Pompey fans fell by more than half last season.
In total the number of banning orders handed out to local supporters also declined, from 49 during the 2009/10 season to 32.
Up to November this year, 22 Pompey fans were arrested – 16 at home and six on away visits – compared to 45 last year. Nationally the number of people arrested for football-related disorder fell to a record low last season.
In 2010/11 3,089 English and Welsh fans were arrested, down 302 from the previous season – the lowest level since records began in 1984/5.
