SHOPLIFTER Steven Hoile has been ordered to pay compensation.

Hoile, of Foxbury Grove, Portchester, admitted stealing beer and a sandwich from BP in West Street, Portchester on March 22.

The 28-year-old also pleaded guilty to stealing goods from a McColls store in Fareham on March 16.

Hoile was given a two-year conditional discharge by Fareham magistrates.

He was told to pay £85.99 in compensation and costs.
