A VICTIM who was among four men attacked in Portsmouth city centre is urged to contact police.

The group were assaulted by two men who walked from the top of Commercial Road, down the pedestrian precinct, and towards the bus stops at the bottom of the street.

Police have identified three victims but have not been able to trace the fourth man following the assaults at about 9pm on October 13.

He was standing with his back to the fountain on Commercial Road, facing Debenhams, with a group of other young people.

One of the attackers pushed the victim, a young white man, in the chest as he walked passed him. The victim nearly fell into the water fountain.

Detective Constable Allison Fraser said: ‘I’d appeal to him to make contact with us and let us know whether or not he wishes us to take any action against the men.’

Two men, one aged 26 and one aged 28, both from Portsmouth, arrested in connection with the incident were later bailed. Call Det Con Fraser on 101.
