A MAN who admitted selling cannabis for two years has narrowly avoided jail.

Billy Way, 27, of Westminster Place in Portsmouth, admitted to one count of possession with intent to supply and one count of production of cannabis after a drugs warrant was carried out on February 3.

During his sentencing hearing at Portsmouth Crown Court, Recorder Anne Arnold said: ‘I’m of the view in your case, given your limited record of no convictions and one unrelated caution, that the sentence can properly be suspended.

‘Consider yourself fortunate you are not facing confiscation proceedings.’

She sentenced him to eight months in jail, suspended for 18 months, with 150 hours unpaid work.
