Senior police officer hits out at ‘irresponsible’ drivers after 320 thefts from vehicles

MAGISTRATES have fined a man for using a mobile phone while driving.

Michael Stevens pleaded guilty to committing the offence while driving a Mercedes Sprinter in Middle Park Way, Havant, on June 16.

The 45-year-old, from Cardiff Road, North End, Portsmouth, was fined £100 by Fareham magistrates.

He was also told to pay £15 to crime victims and £35 costs to Hampshire Police Authority. Three points were added to his driving licence.
