SHOPLIFTER Ian Squires has been given a conditional discharge.

Squires, from Fratton Road, Fratton, Portsmouth, pleaded guilty to stealing food and drink worth £15.30 from Asda at The Bridge Centre in Fratton.

The 46-year-old was given a 12-month conditional discharge by Portsmouth magistrates.

Squires must pay £85 in court costs. No order for compensation was made.
