A MOTORIST who got back behind the wheel after being banned has been told to do community service.

Paul Sharpe was caught driving a Volkswagen Golf in Eastern Parade, Portsmouth, while he was disqualified.

Sharpe, of Salterns Avenue, Milton, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and without insurance when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

The 27-year-old was told to do 120 hours of community service in the next 12 months.

He was also banned from driving for another year.
