MAGISTRATES have fined a man for possessing illegal drugs.

Jamie Tomlinson pleaded guilty to having class B amphetamine in St Ronan’s Road, Southsea.

The 43-year-old, from Wymering Road, North End, Portsmouth, also pleaded guilty to being in possession of class B herbal cannabis in the same road on the same day.

It is not known how much of either drug he was in possession of.

Tomlinson was fined £50 by Portsmouth magistrates.

He was ordered to pay
£15 into a fund for victims
of crime and £35 in court costs.

Magistrates made an order for the amphetamine and cannabis to be forfeited and destroyed under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.

Tomlinson pleaded guilty to committing the crimes while he was subject to a six-month conditional discharge for a separate charge of possessing class B cannabis.

No separate penalty was imposed.
