AN attacker has been ordered to pay compensation to his victim.

Michael Kimber, from Deerhurst Crescent, Paulsgrove, Portsmouth, had denied assaulting a man by beating him in Portsmouth.

However he was found guilty of battery by Portsmouth magistrates.

The 24-year-old was put under supervision for a year.

He was ordered to pay £230 compensation and £80 to a fund for victims of crime.

Kimber was told to pay £250 in court costs.
