A MAN charged with stealing a samurai sword in a burglary has appeared in court.

Christopher Mudway, 29, of Sandringham Road, Portsmouth, is accused of entering the property in Westfield Road, Southsea, and stealing the sword and a laptop on February 27.

He is accused of having the sword on him in Fratton Road, Portsmouth, the following day. Mudway was remanded in custody to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court on March 24.
