A MAN was caught in possession of 183 tablets of a powerful sedative.

Daniel Powell, 32, of Gladys Avenue, North End, Portsmouth, admitted having the 183 tablets of class C drug Diazepam on him in West Street, Havant.

He was fined £50 and told to pay £20 to a fund for victims of crime by Portsmouth magistrates.

Magistrates made an order for the drugs to be forfeited and destroyed under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971.
