A 50-year-old man who assaulted a police officer has been ordered to do unpaid work.

Paul Self attacked PC Darrell Cox after the officer was called to his home in Copnor Road, Copnor.

Self pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court.

He was ordered to do 200 hours of community service and pay £250 in compensation to PC Cox, plus £85 in costs.
