TWO men were arrested after a pizza shop worker was assaulted in a late-night attack.

The 32-year-old and 23-year-old, both from Manchester, were held following the assault at Pizza Go Go in Osborne Road, Southsea. They were later bailed pending further inquiries. The worker set off a personal alarm after three men approached him between 12.50am and 1am on October 24. They hurled abuse before one of the men assaulted him and another damaged the front of the premises.

PC David Merryweater said: ‘This was a very aggressive and unprovoked attack which could have easily resulted in serious injury. Fortunately the victim did not obtain any serious injury but has been left very badly shaken after this attack.’

Call PC Merryweather at Fratton CID with information on 101.
