SHOPLIFTER Jay McKnight has been told to pay compensation.

The 29-year-old stole three jars of coffee, worth £15, from the Co-op in Sultan Road, Buckland, Portsmouth and cheese, worth £19, from the Co-op in London Road, North End.

McKnight, of Agincourt Road, Portsmouth, pleaded guilty to two counts of theft when he appeared at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court. He was told to pay £34 in compensation to the two shops and £85 in court costs.
