TWO would-be robbers punched and kicked a woman while trying to steal her shopping bag.

The 39-year-old victim was walking in Ludlow Road, Paulsgrove, near the Credenhill Road junction when the attackers struck. But they fled empty-handed.

The victim needed hospital treatment for a bruised eye and bruised ribs following the attack.

The attempted robbery happened between 7.45pm and 8.30pm on June 13 but police have only just released details.

Detective Constable Andrew Holt said: ‘This victim went through a traumatic ordeal as the would-be robbers were unsuccessful in their violent attempt to take her property.’

The first suspect is white, in his late teens to early 20s, 6ft tall and of a skinny build.

He has blond, shoulder- length, curly hair and wore dark jeans and a black, Nike hooded top with the hood up.

The second man is white, aged 16 to 17 and 5ft 4in tall with ginger spiky hair and a pierced right eyebrow. He wore dark jeans and a white T-shirt.
