A SUSPECT has been charged after a woman was attacked with a glass at a pub.

Police were called to The Farmhouse pub in Burrfields Road, Portsmouth, at about 11.30pm on Friday following reports that a woman had been assaulted there.

The 21-year-old victim, from Southsea, needed stitches following the attack, which happened at about 11.30pm on Friday.

Police arrested Madeleine Sheila Start, 19, of St Mary’s Road, Portsmouth, in connection with the assault.

She was later charged with wounding with intent and released on bail.

Start is due to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on May 11.
