A WOMAN who obstructed a police officer then gave false details in a bid to avoid being caught has been jailed.

Cherelle Ash, 21, of Victoria Road South, Southsea, admitted committing the offence in Waverley Road, Southsea.

She admitted failing to surrender to custody and to breaching a suspended sentence.

Ash was jailed for 20 weeks by Portsmouth magistrates.
