A WOMAN caught stealing perfume worth more than £1,000 has been spared jail.

Joanne Foster, 27, of St Chads Avenue, Portsmouth, admitted stealing perfume and candles worth £635.92 from Debenhams in Commercial Road, Portsmouth, on January 3.

She admitted stealing £454 of perfume from the same store on December 28.

Foster was jailed for two months suspended for a year.

She was put under supervision and told not to leave home between 7pm and 7am for eight weeks.

Foster must pay an £80 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
