TWO men have been arrested after a fight which left one of them with a stab wound.

The pair, both 33, were arrested by police on suspicion of assault after the incident in Beresford Close, Waterlooville.

Police cars were called to the scene at about 7pm yesterday.

One of the men received a stab wound, which is not life-threatening.

Both men are from Waterlooville.

Duncan Smith, a spokesman for Hampshire Police, said: ‘Police can confirm they are investigating an alleged assault in Beresford Close in Waterlooville.

‘Both men are being questioned by detectives, who are treating this case as an isolated allegation.

‘There is no information to suggest a wider risk to the community.

‘House-to-house enquiries are being carried out.’

Police are appealing for witnesses.
