PROLIFIC thief David Reilly has been jailed for 16 weeks.

The 23-year-old was locked up after he repeatedly ignored court orders for previous convictions.

His latest offence came as he stole 10 coats, worth £300, from Peacocks in Cosham High Street.

At the time Reilly, of Copnor Road, Copnor, had two suspended sentences hanging over him for past thefts.

Reilly previously stole a laptop from Computer Junction in Southsea and a handbag from the Somers Town Family Centre.

He was jailed at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court after pleading guilty to theft and admitting breaching his previous sentences.
