TWO stores were raided in burglaries being linked by police.
The first incident at Sainsbury’s in Albert Road, Southsea, happened between 3.15am and 3.30am yesterday. The second Sainsbury’s was targeted in Palmerston Road, Southsea, between 4am and 4.30am.
Detective Constable Sharon Lewry said: ‘Both incidents are being linked based on the method used by the offenders.
‘I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed any of these incidents or could help identify who is responsible to come forward.’
Yesterday, shoppers were greeted with signs saying the shops were shut.
A spokeswoman from the supermarket giant said: ‘We will reopen the stores as soon as possible, and apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused.’
