POLICE officers will be trying to dispel common myths about rape at an awareness event this weekend.

A police van, which is able to display messages digitally, will be parked at Gunwharf Quays between 1pm and 5pm today and tomorrow, as well as at Guildhall Square between 5pm and 11pm.

Officers will also be giving out advice. The campaign is aimed at raising awareness of the chain of events that can lead to rape.
