AN antique piece of jewellery was stolen during a raid on a home in Southsea.
Burglars broke into the property on Britannia Road and took the nine-carat gold ruby and spinnel necklace, pictured, which is thought to be worth around £1,000.
Thieves also took a large number of other items of jewellery from the house, including other necklaces and earrings. Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened around 10.30am on November 2.
A police spokesman said: ‘This is a rare item and there are very few of them in existence.
