Robber chased by pub punters after threatening Co-op workers in Portsmouth

A MEETING to pick the Conservative candidate to stand for Hampshire police commissioner will take place two weeks today.

Open to every voter in the county, the meeting on Saturday, June 16, will give people the chance to interview the shortlisted finalists for the nomination and select the final two.

Anyone wishing to attend the event at Ferneham Hall, in Fareham, from 10am needs to register by Friday, June 8.

The shortlisted Conservative candidates include Roger Ainsley, a Rear Admiral in the Royal Navy, Christopher Brannigan, a Lieutenant Colonel in the Royal Scots Dragoon, Cllr Donna Jones, a magistrate and Portsmouth city councillor, Cllr Mel Kendal, a senior Hampshire councillor, Sean Woodward, the leader of Fareham Borough Council and Michael Mates, a former MP in Hampshire for 36 years.
