VEHICLE owners have been warned to remove valuables from their cars after a spate of thefts in Fareham.

A spokesman from Fareham West Neighbourhood Policing Team said: ‘Since New Year’s Eve we have been made aware of four thefts from vehicles across our area. All had items on display which were stolen.

‘It is also suspected that a couple of the vehicles were insecure, making it easy for the offender to gain entry.

‘I know we have stressed before about the importance of checking your vehicle is locked when it is left, but please make sure you do check and incorporate it into part of your normal routine.’

Loose change to the value of £40 was taken from a vehicle on Weybridge Close, Park Gate, between 5.15pm on New Year’s Day and 1.30pm on January 2. .

A wallet was taken from a vehicle in Weybridge Close between 11pm on New Year’s Eve and 9.15am on January 2.

A holdall was taken from a vehicle in Ranvilles Lane, Fareham, between 10.50pm and 11.05pm on New Year’s Eve.

An iPhone charger, leather jacket, plus other small items were taken from a vehicle in Swanwick Lane, Swanwick between 4pm on Boxing Day and 2pm on December 28.
