Thug leaves woman, 24, in hospital after attack

SOMERS TOWN residents spoke of their shock today after a man was stabbed following a reported confrontation with a little girl wearing a clown mask.

Hampshire Police say they have arrested four people after the drama in Sedgeley Close.

One elderly resident in Edgbaston House said: ‘We haven’t been told anything officially about what happened. But I was told was that there was a stabbing and the police were around.

‘I don’t know any more details.

‘It is quite a shock. But once I’m in my flat, I don’t care what happens outside.

‘Something like that doesn’t happen regularly around here.

‘You get noise from the kids who use the Brook club, but that’s it.

‘Apparently there had been a party.’

One worker helping on the renovation of Wilmcote House said he stayed in Southsea last night and there were a lot of kids in clown masks ‘gobbing off.’

And a mother, who did not wish to be named, said she was aware of the incident, but that it had nothing to do with the adventure playground despite it happening nearby.

Earlier in the evening there was a Halloween party at Somerstown Adventure Playground. It is not known if the incident is linked to the event.

No police were at the scene this morning, a regular route for residents, families and students getting through the city.
