REVEALED: 999 emergency calls made in the Portsmouth area this week

WHERE: Oak Road, Fareham

WHEN: Sunday December 4, 11am

WHAT HAPPENED: Firefighters had to free a man from his car after a road traffic incident. Two vehicles were involved, and crews from Fareham and Cosham helped the man before he was taken to the Queen Alexandra Hospital.

WHERE: Gunwharf Quays, Southsea

WHEN: Monday December 5, 4.30pm

WHAT HAPPENED: Five people became stuck in a lift in the residential block the Roundhouse. Firefighters rescued the group within 20 minutes.

WHERE: The Paddock, Gosport

WHEN: Monday December 5, 4.50pm

WHAT HAPPENED: Firefighters called after a commercial vehicle caught light.

WHERE: High Street, Bursledon

WHEN: Monday December 5, 7am

WHAT HAPPENED: An elderly man was rescued from a house fire after his neighbour’s dog raised the alarm. Neighbour Jared Coleman was alerted by his cockapoo Priya and raised the alarm. Fire crews broke down the door and rescued the pensioner. He was taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation.

WHERE: Junction 11-12, M27

WHEN: Tuesday December 6, 7.15am

WHAT HAPPENED: There was a collision between two cars, a Fiat and Land Rover, although nobody was hurt. One car was damaged and the lanes were cleared by 7.45am.

WHEN: Tuesday December 6, 9.40am

WHAT HAPPENED: A search was launched after a full set of men’s clothing was found on the seafront. Coastguard teams, including a helicopter, looked over the area but stopped at 4pm because of bad light.

WHERE: A32, Bridge Street, Wickham

WHEN: Tuesday December 6, 8am

WHAT HAPPENED: A Vauxhall and a Ford car collided. One person suffered minor injuries.

WHERE: Victoria Road North, Southsea

WHEN: Wednesday December 7, 2pm

WHAT HAPPENED: Firefighters rescued an elderly woman who was stuck in a lift in a flat complex. The crew managed to prise the door open and rescue the woman safely.

WHERE: Grove Road, Gosport

WHEN: Wednesday December 7, 7.20pm

WHAT HAPPENED: Police were called after a collision between a BMW and a number of parked cars. There were no reported injuries. A 52-year-old woman was arrested and since charged with drink driving.

WHEN: Thursday December 8, 4.20am

WHAT HAPPENED: Police helped four horses which were found grazing on a roundabout. The animals were cleared and taken to a field east of Hulbert Road.

WHEN: Thursday December 8, 7pm

WHAT HAPPENED: A Vauxhall Zafira car collided with a bicycle on a roundabout. The cyclist, a 47-year-old man, was treated for minor injuries.

WHERE: Unicorn Road, Portsmouth

WHEN: Friday, December 9, 9am

WHAT HAPPENED: An air ambulance helped a man who had suffered severe leg injuries, although it is not known how the injuries occured.

WHERE: St George’s Square, Portsmouth

WHEN: Friday, December 9, 1pm

WHAT HAPPENED: A parked car was dragged away from a block of flats, after it was allegedly knocked into by a car coming off the road. The parked crashed into the side of the building, but there was no-one inside at the time.
