A £10,000 reward has been put up to help catch a thief who stole £50,000 worth of jewellery from a family’s home in Emsworth.

The owners of the house in Southleigh Road were out when the thief struck between 10.20pm and 11pm on Saturday.

Officers are investigating how many items were stolen.

Investigating officer Det Con Michael Strangeway said: ‘Initial indications suggest the distinctive Asian and Iranian jewellery missing is valued at up to £50,000.

‘We believe this address was targeted specifically.’

‘We are pursuing several promising leads, which have already led to a first description of a possible suspect, who was seen acting suspiciously in the area on Saturday night.’

The suspect is a man who wore light trousers, a light top and dark trainers.

The victim is offering a reward of £10,000 to anyone who has information which would lead to the recovery of the stolen jewellery.

Anyone with information should contact Waterlooville police station on 101.
