A FIGHT broke out following a road rage confrontation in Portsmouth.

Police are looking to trace a witness who alerted officers to a fight in Fratton.

The incident happened some time between 7pm and 7.30pm last night at Selborne Terrace, near Fratton Railway Station.

Police say it is believed that the fight followed a road rage incident, between the driver of a hackney taxi and a pedestrian.

The 46-year-old pedestrian suffered a foot injury and two cuts to his head and was treated at Queen Alexandra Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

A 38-year-old man from Portsmouth has been arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. He has been bailed until September 16.
