ROBBERS barged into an elderly couple’s home and stole cash from them.

Two men knocked at the door of the home in Moorings Way, Milton, at about 9pm on Tuesday.

When the 79-year-old man opened the door, the pair pushed past him. They then stole a wallet containing £30 and took a brown handbag containing a bus pass, a hearing aid and money.

The robbers then ran back out the front door. They are described as white, tall and wearing dark clothing, possibly wearing gloves.

Detective Sergeant Mark Hall said: ‘The elderly man was knocked over in the process. He was seen by ambulance crews and wasn’t injured.

‘Also in the house at the time were his wife, an 82-year-old woman and her carer who’s 91.

‘They too were uninjured but understandably shocked.

‘Officers on scene carried out a search with support from the dog unit but they were unable to locate the offenders. I’d like to hear from anyone who saw two men matching our description hanging around the area. It’s possible they may have dumped the handbag and wallet somewhere nearby.’
