PORTSMOUTH police are hunting two robbers who targeted a man as he walked down an alleyway.

The 27-year-old victim was walking between Sultan Road and Old Commercial Road in Buckland when he was approached from behind by two men, who pushed him and threatened him.

The victim then handed over a large amount of cash, and the two men ran away.

Detective Constable Verity Lamb said: ‘We are appealing for anyone in the area at that time who may have seen anything to come forward.

‘This incident took place in the middle of the day, and the route is a common cut-through so it is likely that there were people present when it happened.

‘If you saw the incident take place, or saw two males acting suspiciously or running from the area, please get in touch.’

The robbery took place between 12.30pm and 1pm on Wednesday, February 23, but police have only just released the details.

The two men were both in their 20s.

One was tall and lanky, wearing light coloured clothing, while the other was shorter, and wearing a dark hooded top.
