A 51-year-old man from Southsea went to visit a 60-year-old male friend at his home in Worcester Close, Southsea on Saturday between 6.10pm and 6.15pm.

As he entered the property two men followed him into the lounge.

One of the men removed a metal pole from a rucksack before taking £100 from the pocket of a hooded top being worn by the visitor.

The two men then left on pushbikes.

The first offender was 5ft 6in, white, in his 40s and was tanned.

He carried a rucksack and wore a dark-coloured baseball cap and a red jacket with a white collar.

The second man was white, in his 40s, and 6ft 2in with dark hair and a pale complexion.

He wore a long brown coat that came to the knee.

Detective Constable Lee Parker said: ‘We are particularly keen to speak to a 12 to 14-year-old girl outside the address around the time of the incident.

‘This girl was not involved in the offence but may hold vital information.’
