A SAILOR forced his way into a home and assaulted a woman.

McCoy Turner, 32, of the Senior Rates Mess, HMS Collingwood, Fareham, used violence to get into an address in Avenue Road, Gosport.

Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court heard he also assaulted a woman on the same day, September 28.

Magistrates gave him a restraining order banning him from the home and from contacting the woman.

He was given a community order with a 32-day building better relationships course and 32 sessions of a rehabilitation activity requirement.

Turner must pay £700 compensation, a £60 victim surcharge, £85 prosecution costs and a £150 criminal courts charge. He pleaded guilty to common assault and using violence to get into a premises.
