Gang breaks victim’s jaw in ‘cowardly’ Portsmouth attack

TWO teenage robbers who beat a 14-year-old schoolboy in a ‘cowardly attack’ are being hunted by police.

The victim was walking home from school with two friends when the two teenagers approached them in a park between Arundel Street and Crasswell Street in Landport.

They demanded he hand over his mobile phone – but the boy refused.

They then assaulted him and stole the phone before walking away along Northam Street towards Arundel Street between 6pm and 6.10pm on Wednesday.

A Hampshire Constabulary spokesman said: ‘This was a cowardly attack on a 14-year-old boy who was walking home from school.’

The first suspect is white, aged 15 to 16 and 5ft 8in tall with dark brown hair and a large build. He wore a blue t-shirt, black hooded top and black tracksuit trousers.

The second boy wore a grey tracksuit with the hood up. He is white, aged 15 to 16 with short, brown hair and a skinny build.

They were walking with two girls believed to be aged about 10.
