A MENTALLY-ill missing man is being hunted by police.

Justin Fryer has not been seen since 3.30pm yesterday.

The 39-year-old had been receiving treatment at St James’s Hospital in Locksway Road, Milton, Portsmouth.

Police say his behaviour could become ‘unpredictable’ if he does not take his medication or takes drugs or alcohol.

Officers have released this image in the hope of tracking him down.

However police are urging the public not to approach Mr Fryer if they see him, but to contact them immediately.

As previously reported in The News, Mr Fryer was on day release from mental hospital Ravenswood House near Fareham to visit a friend when he had to be restrained in May 2009.

He was also given an electric shock with a taser gun by officers during the incident.

Mr Fryer is white, about 5ft 9in tall, stocky, with black hair that is short and spiky on top.

He was wearing grey or beige casual trousers and a red top that is possibly striped, and trainers.

Anyone who thinks they have seen Mr Fryer should contact Hampshire Constabulary on 101 or 0845 0454545.

Alternatively call 999 in an emergency.
