FEARS are growing for the safety of a missing 15-year-old schoolgirl.

Elizabeth McKeon, known as Beth, was last seen outside her school, Portsmouth Academy for Girls, in St Mary’s Road, Fratton, yesterday afternoon just before 3pm.

Police believe the teenager may still be in Portsmouth but are urging the public to be on the lookout at train and bus stations as well.

Insp Rich Thompson said: ‘We are concerned for Elizabeth’s welfare and are carrying out extensive enquiries to try and trace her and would appreciate hearing from anyone who may have seen her or knows where she is.

‘We believe she may still be in Portsmouth but she could be looking to travel outside the city and therefore we’d ask people to keep an eye out around train stations and bus stations.

Elizabeth is 5ft tall, slim, with short blonde hair.

She usually wears earrings known as ‘stretchers’ which stretch the ear lobes, in both ears.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Insp Thompson at Fratton police station on 101.
