A SERIAL shoplifter has been jailed.

Wayne Ranson, from Lees Lane, Gosport, pleaded guilty to stealing Lynx deodorants worth £55.20 from the Morrisons store in Walpole Road, Gosport, on July 15.

The 36-year-old also pleaded guilty to stealing electrical goods worth £120 from Asda at Speedfields Park, Fareham, on July 1.

On the same day he admitted stealing more electrical equipment, worth £149.97 from Asda in Dock Road, Gosport.

Ranson pleaded guilty to returning to the Asda at Fareham two days later and stealing £2 of meat from the same shop.

And he also admitted entering Orhans kebab shop in Brockhurst Road, Gosport, with intent to steal on June 4.

Ranson – a persistent offender – was sentenced to 10 weeks in prison at Fareham Magistrates’ Court.
